Browse, search and edit rows

The Entries tab of a table is where you work with its rows. Open WPM Fields › Data Tables, click the table, and stay on Entries.
The row list
- The toolbar has the search box (Search rows...) and, on the right, the buttons Delete selected (N) (only while rows are ticked), Delete all rows, Download CSV and Add row.
- The list shows the column ID and then every column of the table, with the column's label as the heading.
- Rows are listed newest first (highest ID first), 25 per page, with page controls below.
- An empty value shows as a dash. A True / false column shows Yes or No. A Password column shows
••••••when a password is stored and a dash when not. Long values are cut to fit the cell. - Click the ID of a row to open it.
An empty table says No rows yet: "Add a row by hand, import a CSV file or set up a data feed on the Import & feed tab."
Search
Type in Search rows... and the list reloads after a short pause (about a third of a second), from page 1. The search finds rows where any text column contains what you typed, ignoring capitals. Text columns are Text, Text area, Email, URL, Select and WYSIWYG editor. Numbers, dates, True / false, Image, File and Password columns are not searched. A Select column is searched by its stored value (the value, not the label).
With no match the list says No matching rows. While a search is active Delete all rows is hidden, so you cannot empty the table by mistake while looking at a few results.
There is no column filter on this screen. Filtering by column values is a feature of lists on your site and of form choices.
Add a row
- Click Add row (also offered in the empty state). The New row screen shows one control per column, built for the column's type: a text box, a number box, a date picker, a select, a switch, a media picker, and so on. A required column is marked with a red
*, and a column's Instructions text is shown under its label. - Fill in what you need. Columns you leave empty stay empty (or take the column's default value).
- Click Add row. A toast says Row added. and you return to the list.
A row may be completely empty; only columns marked Required must be filled.
Edit a row
- Click the row's ID. The screen is titled Row 12.
- Change values and click Save row (Row saved.). Only the columns you changed are sent, so untouched columns are neither re-checked nor rewritten. Moving away with unsaved changes asks for confirmation.
- To remove the row click Delete and confirm Delete this row? ("The row is deleted for good.").
What a column accepts
A value that does not fit the column is refused, never silently emptied. The screen marks the column with its message and shows the toast Not saved, for example The row was not saved. Price: This value does not fit the column.
Column type | Accepted | Refused |
|---|---|---|
Text, Text area, WYSIWYG | Any text. Tags are cleaned like in the rest of WordPress. | - |

Color picker | A hex color such as |

Other rules:
- Unique column: a second row with the same value is refused with
A row with this value already exists. - Required column: an empty value is refused ("This value is required.").
- A value for a key that is not a column of the table is ignored.
- Saving needs an active license. When a license has expired the screen is locked (see the overview).
See Import a CSV file for how imports read each value.
Password columns
A Password column never leaves the server:
- The row screen shows an empty password box. If a password is stored the box says "Leave empty to keep the current password".
- Type a new password to replace the stored one.
- Tick Remove the stored password (offered when a password is stored and the column is not required) to clear it.
- The list shows
••••••only to tell you a password exists. - The password is stored as a hash, is not part of any CSV export, and can never be made a public column.
Delete rows
- Delete selected (N): tick the rows (the box in the heading selects the whole page), then click the button and confirm Delete the selected rows? You can delete at most 500 rows at once (
Delete at most 500 rows at once.). - Delete all rows: shown when the table has rows, no search is active and nothing is ticked. Confirm Delete all rows? The table keeps its columns; only the rows go. The row numbering starts again at 1 afterwards (the table is emptied, not deleted row by row).
Both confirmations say "N rows are deleted for good. Pages or lists built from them change on their next update." Programmatic SEO pages that were generated from deleted rows are updated or removed by their next run (see Programmatic SEO).
Limits to know
- The list pages through every row, but the screen is built for browsing: for a very large table use search, or a CSV export, rather than paging.
- Rows have no manual order. The list is by ID; lists on your site can sort by any public column.
- Deleting single rows never reuses an ID, but Delete all rows restarts the numbering at 1. Anything that remembers a row by its ID (generated pages, for example) loses track of it, so prefer an import in Replace mode with a unique match field when you want to reload a table (see Import a CSV file).
