Getting started FAQ

Installing and setup
Where are my field values stored? In one table per field group, named {prefix}wpmcf_fg_{group key}. Nothing is written to post meta. See Introduction.
Which WordPress, PHP and database versions do I need? WordPress 6.6, PHP 8.1, MySQL 8.0 or MariaDB 10.6, or newer. See Requirements.
The setup wizard did not open. Can I still use it? Yes: wp-admin/admin.php?page=wpmcf-setup, or Run the setup wizard on the dashboard checklist. See Setup wizard.
Does picking "Programmatic SEO" in the wizard need Pro? Page generation does. The wizard only changes the hints and the checklist; the starters are free.
I installed a starter twice. Is something wrong? No. The second copy gets a number (team_details_2) and the first is not touched.
I hid the dashboard checklist. How do I get it back? There is no button for it in the plugin. The checklist is a convenience, nothing depends on it. The wizard is still reachable at admin.php?page=wpmcf-setup.
Does the plugin work with Advanced Custom Fields installed? Yes. To move over, use WPM Fields › Tools › Migrate from ACF. ACF data is never changed.
Settings and health
Can I use Google Maps? Yes: Settings › General › Maps, choose Google Maps and add a key with the Maps JavaScript and Geocoding APIs. Until a key is saved, OpenStreetMap is used.
What does "Clear page caches after changes" do? Asks the supported cache plugins to clear their pages after options pages, Global Data, field groups or generated pages change. See Settings.
What is the notice "Mass Custom Fields caught N errors"? Part of the plugin failed and was skipped so your site kept working. Open Settings › Health to see which. See Health and troubleshooting.
An integration was switched off. How do I turn it on again? Settings › Health › Turn on, after updating the plugin it connects to.
What are the keyboard shortcuts? Ctrl K (Windows, Linux) or ⌘ K (Mac) opens the search on any plugin screen.
Plans, trials and licenses
What do I get for free? Everything for modeling and printing content: 30+ field types, post types, taxonomies, options pages, Global Data, Variables, blocks, builder tags, JSON import/export and ACF migration. See Plans and licensing.
Is the trial really free? Yes: 14 days, no card needed. See Trials, renewals and expiry.
What happens when my trial ends? The site returns to free at once. Your fields and data are untouched. Pro features stop; there is no grace period for generated pages.
What happens when my paid license expires? Generation, sync, AI and editing of Pro features pause. Everything you built keeps working or is kept. Generated pages stay online for 14 days, then return 404 unless converted into posts. You can renew or convert at any time, and download data tables as CSV.
Will my fields disappear if I stop paying? No. Field groups, tables, values and definitions are never deleted by a license change. Gallery, flexible content and clone values keep printing.
How do I get support? Free: the WordPress.org support forum. Paid plans: email support. Refunds: see the refund policy; requests within 14 days of purchase are covered.
Privacy, multisite and uninstalling
Does the plugin collect personal data? Values you store stay in your database. User and comment field values are part of WordPress's personal data export and erase tools. Freemius usage data is sent only if you opt in. See Privacy and data.
Does it work on multisite? Yes, with separate tables and settings per site. See Multisite.
What happens to my data when I deactivate or delete the plugin? Deactivating keeps everything. Deleting keeps your data too, unless you switched on Delete all plugin data on uninstall. Posts and pages you created always stay. See Uninstalling.
